YŪN

pronounced "Yoon"

In Chinese, Yūn describes the moment color softly bleeds into form: a halo, a bloom, a gentle blur where edges soften and something new emerges. It is the exact moment our glazes meet the kiln's heat. And it is the feeling of a lit candle at dusk: light blooming into darkness, scent blooming into air. This is Yūn.

The Name

The Chinese character (Yūn) has many layers, like the glazes on our candles.

It means cloud. It can mean "halo," the soft ring of light around the moon on a hazy night. And in traditional painting, it describes the technique of letting color bleed into wet paper, creating soft edges where one thing becomes another.

The Vessel

We work with a team of ceramic artists to bring the vessel into life. The design is simple: one color meeting another, edges softening until one color becomes inseparable from another. The forms the cloud.

The vessel holds this stillness. And when you light the candle inside, that same quiet unfolding fills the room. Light spreads like ink on wet paper. Warmth settles like dusk. The air becomes softer and deeper, an atmosphere that asks nothing of you but your presence.

The Scent

Our fragrances are inspired by the vessel and rooted in traditional Chinese culture. These are not loud fragrances. They unfold slowly, the way incense once drifted through ancient halls, the way steam rises from a porcelain cup. Quiet. Present. Rooted in tradition.

Whether you're here for the scent, the ceramic, or simply the idea of something made slowly and well, welcome.

We're glad you're here.
